Michael Crichton, author of "Jurrasic Park", Congo", and writer/producer of "ER", was 6'9", but that didn't stop him from being a very successful author. Granted, his television appearances made us all go "wow, he's tall", but I'm sure he took that all into consideration and kept making bestsellers.
